Mamont Siberian Vodka - Free Delivery

In 2001, after surviving an emergency landing, a group of 12 gentlemen found themselves trapped by glaciers at the south pole. While waiting for a rescue team to arrive, they warmed themselves up with vodka and soon came up with the idea of organising an expedition to find the great Mammoth.

In 2003, an original Mammoth tusk was discovered peaking out from the frozen tundra in Russia. Hearing about this breakthrough, one of the 12 explorers, Frederick Paulsen, organised for a team of scientists to go to the site. Remarkably, under the layers of ice, a whole Mammoth with hair still attached was revealed. This Yukagir Mammoth, turned out to be an immensely important discovery for today’s scientists.

To Honour these adventures, and the heritage found in Siberia, Mr Paulsen brought Mamont (the Russian translation of Mammoth) vodka to life.

Mamont is a vodka that is elegant, timeless and full of character. It is sustainably produced in one of Russia’s oldest distilleries at the foot of the Altai mountains by skilled craftsmen who only use traditional methods  and natural, local ingredients.

The Altai mountains  supply the water, which is renowned throughout Russia for it’s purity. The finest Siberian white winter wheat is selected and goes through a carefully controlled fermentation before being distilled five times to produce an exceptional alcohol. Finally, a small proportion of cedar nut spirit is added (cedar nuts were found to be the Yukagir Mammoth’s last meal) before the spirit is filtered through silver birch charcoal.

Mamont Vodka is produced in limited small batches and bottled in Siberia. It’s taste has been described as, “soft, with a hint of sweetness and a dry finish”. As a final tribute to the Mammoth, Mamont Vodka is bottled in a unique and eye-catching tusk shaped bottle.
