The first vintage was processed in 1980 and in 1982 the winery was formally named Peter Lehmann Wines. From then on, its wines have been marketed under the Peter Lehmann Wines label.
Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the Barossa produces beautifully structured wines with hints of violet and mint, and having superb cassis blackcurrant on the palate. They are noted for their longevity and give a handsome reward to those who choose to cellar these wines.
Peter Lehmann Barossa Valley Chardonnay Description.
Colour : Vibrant, clear gold with green tinges at the rim. Bouquet : Aromas of freshly cut white peaches andsmoky fig. Palate : Good length on the palate and superblingering creaminess. It has delicious depth of fruit with subtle hints of integrated smoky oak and finishing soft and round. Fermentation : Approximately 10% of the blend isfermented in French oak hogsheads usingnatural yeasts. This in turn adds mouth feel and complexity to the wine. Fruit source : A blend of chardonnay from the Barossa Valley (84%) and the Eden Valley (16%). Cellaring : Refreshing to sip now, and with careful cellaring will continue to develop in the bottle for a further four to five years. Enjoy With : A perfect accompaniment to fuller flavored fish such as salmon, and delicious with creamy vegetarian pasta dishes and chicken pie.
