If you hadn't tasted this wine you could be mistaken for thinking that Stoneleigh is simply Montana's second label. Not true! The fruit for this wine is grown and sourced separately from the Kiwi giant, Montana's. This is a super Sauv and is much fresher, cleaner and incisive than the aforementioned's effort at this price, but still proudly waves the Marlborough flag. Folks, there's a new sheriff in town!
True to Stoneleigh's distinctive style, this classic, lively Sauvignon Blanc captures the essence of Marlborough, New Zealand's most acclaimed winemaking region. Crafted from ripe, intensely flavoured grapes this full-bodied Sauvignon Blanc is enjoyable while young and exuberant.
Tasting Notes : The nose displays intense passionfruit and stone fruit aromas, with background mineral notes. The palate has tropical fruit and passionfruit with a touch of dry grass. It is full and rounded with a succulent mouth-feel and viscosity, balanced with crisp acidity.
Method of Production : To retain maximum flavour, the grapes were handled as little as possible and the juice underwent a cool, slow fermentation using yeasts that complemented and enhanced the fruit characters. Following fermentation the wine received a light fining and filtering prior to be bottled.
